There is an old story of Kutsukake hot spring.
Shigeno-Shinou who was a provincial governor, had been suffering from eye disease.He went to Kustukake and took a bath.After his bath,his eye were healed miraculously.He was very happy.He built Yakushido, which means hall of Buddha, as guardian of the bath.Since then it has been open as a healing hot spring. According to a book in 1810, Kutsukake hot spring was designated as a famous healing hot spring.
